I the problem that i can't reboot a type of computer.
Linux is 2.2.15pre9 the IDE-Patch
Computer is a IDT 200MMX onto a SIS 5598 Chipset MB.
The Problem is that when i plug a "Seriel Port Dongle" (for Testing the
Port in "Norton Diag") onto COM1 i can't reboot the computer. It just
hangs at "Restarting system" even "ALT-Sysrq-B" hangs. Best is that
Serial-Support isn't even compiled in. (Hangs are idependend of
reboot=warm, reboot=bios)
Even Stranger is that another computer (486 DX2/66 onto a Ali Chipset
PCI-MB) doesn't have that problem.
Does anybody else have/had such a Problem?
Do i have to upgrade the kernel?
Is there another Programm which can initiate the reboot? (Like the
"coldboot.com" Programs for DOS)
