2.3.99-pre5: HD lockup after APM resume

From: Jeremy Fitzhardinge (jeremy@goop.org)
Date: Wed Apr 12 2000 - 20:02:12 EST

Hi all,

My Sharp Actius A-100 laptop has a suspend-to-disk feature, which has
worked very well in the past. However, since about 2.3.99-pre2 the HD
locks up on access after restoration. The restore process works fine,
but the first disk access after restore locks up with the HD light stuck
on. After a pause, it prints:

hda: timeout waiting for DMA
ide_dmaproc: chipset supported ide_dma_timeout func only: 14

This laptop uses a PIIX4 chipset, and I've turned on the PIIX tuning
options. .config and boot messages attached.

        J
