But everyone does that:

grep -n reveals:

drivers/char/n_tty.c
drivers/char/random.c
drivers/char/n_hdlc.c

net/atm/common.c [only 2.3]

sbus/audio/audio.c

drivers/sound/*.c

...

Perhaps we should really allocate twice the number of fds?
