I was not trying to defend Linus, but had questions in mind given than
this topic had been discussed in _full_ details about one year ago (or
more) and Linus had explained _clearly_ the reasons that let him take his
decision at this time.

I use a 28.800 modem and have to pay phone tax for the downloading of
emails. I like to have a look at some hundreds of mail each evening.
There is a limit in bloat or low quality remake beyond which I may get
nervous. This just happenned yesterday evening.

Gain in usability looks peanuts to me compared to additionnal bloat and

Could it be that people that would have been stated as good with nothing
years ago are nowadays considered as good candidate to programming? ;-)

I didn't write that Linux was just bloat. It is probably among the less
bloated softwares, but bloat it gets a bit, in my opinion.
By the way, I didn't wait for any suggestion from anybody in order to
contribute to free softwares, even if my contributions are less modest
than numerous other contributions. I just have my limited skills and time
(free time) as everybody on our planet.
