mirroring kernel

I'm trying rsync to mirror the 2.3 kernel tree. I was using mirrordir
with the command:

but I noticed this morning that it looks like it removed about 1/3 of the
files that were supposed to be there, like the ftp archive emptied itself.

Here's what I get out of rsync:

{0}:lh:/mnt/mirror/kernel/v2.3>rsync -avuzb rsync.kernel.org:/pub/linux/kernel/v2.3 /mnt/mirror/kernel/v2.3
zeus.kernel.org: Connection refused
unexpected EOF in read_timeout

Thoughts?

Robert
