You need to patch the kernel. Andre Hedrick has a UDMA patch that includes
support for this interface (available on kernel.org). I use it here with
2 20 Gig IBM drives in a raid 1 configuration. The machine even boots from
the HPT-366 which the docs say it will not do. Of course YMMV.
The machine has been rock solid so far. It has been up 37 days as of a
few minutes ago. Also I am using a 2.2.14 kernel. I expect to upgrade to
2.2.15 as soon as it is finalized by linus. IIRC there are some security
updates in it.
