You bring up something I have wanted for a while. Strictly for benchmarking,
it would be nice to have some way to flush caches so you could get more
repeatable results (at least you would always be starting from the same
point). I am not sure you would even want this in a normal kernel, so a
system call does not seem like the right way to do it. Perhaps a /proc file
or a kernel module would be a better way. Anyway, does anyone know if this
would be difficult to write? My typical approach is to malloc a huge amount
of memory and dirty it, but that seems like quite a hack.
