[2.3.99-pre6] kernel oops - network related

The situation:
during startup ttyS0 was not detected (and this is another problem I
have to investigate). This caused the kissattach (to transform ttyS0
in an AX25 ax0 interface) to fail and all the other amateur radio
interfaces to fail also. This in turn caused zebra to fail.
After the boot process finished, I logged in as root, manually started
the hamradio stuff (ttyS0 was found at this time), and sent a restart
to zebra. This is what I got as a result:

Starting Zebra daemons (prio:10): zebraUnable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000001a

After this, I tried to see what happened to the interfaces issuing an
"ifconfig" command, and it locked in the D state.

I rebooted and I had to wait for a very long fsck (the shutdown
process went to hell....)
