Further to the emails from Jeff Garzik and Andre Hedrick:

lspci:
00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C597 [Apollo VP3] (rev

00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C598 [Apollo MVP3 AGP]

00:07.1 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586 IDE [Apollo] (rev

00:07.3 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3050 (rev 20)

00:09.0 Ethernet controller: Advanced Micro Devices 79c970 [PCnet LANCE]
(rev 02)
00:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! (rev 06)
00:0a.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Live! Daughterboard
(rev 06)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation i740 (rev 21)

Also, the motherboard manual states:

Supports ..... and UltraDMA 33/66 (for MVP3C2 only) devices.

It also lists tested UDMA (ATA?) 66 hard drives... I figure it's kinda
pointless to list them.
