Hello!

I'm trying to get the 2.4.0test1-ac4 running on my system, but ist
does not start, it panics because it doesn't understand my partition
table.

ver_linux with an older, working kernel says the following:

-- Versions installed: (if some fields are empty or look
-- unusual then possibly you have very old versions)
Linux trommel 2.2.14 #1 Thu Jan 13 19:37:11 CET 2000 i586 unknown
Kernel modules 2.3.11
Gnu C 2.95.2
Binutils 2.9.5.0.37
Linux C Library 2.1.3
Dynamic linker ldd: version 1.9.11
Procps 2.0.6
Mount 2.10f
Net-tools 2.05
Kbd 0.99
Sh-utils 2.0
Modules Loaded es1370 soundcore lockd sunrpc autofs smbfs
rtl8139 nls_iso8859-1 nls_cp437 vfat fat

and the IDE part of my .config contains this:
CONFIG_IDE=y

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE=y

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDISK=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDECD=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDESCSI=m

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEPCI=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PCI=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_ALI15X3=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_MODES=y

I also activated these:
CONFIG_PARTITION_ADVANCED=y
CONFIG_MSDOS_PARTITION=y

I could not find anything about this problem in the mailing list
archives, so maybe you can help me with this problem?

Thank you very much in advance, and keep up the good work,

Arne Boettger <apb@wh.fh-wedel.de>
