What software are you using to play the mp3's. I have an ess maestro 2
on my laptop that did that kind of thing until oss got their driver
working and then when the maestro 2 driver was added to the kernel, I
have had no problem with it. Also have an sblive in my dual celeron
(abit bp6 dual 550's) and have had zero problem with it regardless of
kernel beginning with 2.2.13. Could be the driver, the player, your smp
box, do not know for certain.
