W - kernel nanosecond support?
Recently processors going at 1Ghz are available (although from some
sources just barely). Judging from the 2.4 development cycle, by the
time 2.6 will be available, processors will be in the 2Ghz arena.
As jump-start the PPS patches can be used that are normally used for
good NTP timekeeping. They are available (from memory) on ftp.kernel.org
in the daemons directory.
