/proc/isapnp - automatisation fails - stat D

Pardon me if this question has been adressed before, but this is the
most annoying thing I have come up with in the 2.4.0-test1 kernel yet.

The problem is that when I try to write a script (very simple and
perhaps no good) to just "cat" directly into /proc/isapnp, cat enters an
uniterruptable sleep (stat D in ps), and I have to reboot to be able to
write to /proc/isapnp again.

My script file looks partially like this:

card 0 TAG2610
dev 0 TAG2610
port 0 0x580
irq 0 3

If i now try to "cat /etc/isapnp > /proc/isapnp" cat dies hard.

The problem also occures if I try to paste things into the "standard
command-interface (cat >/proc/isapnp<<EOF)" it also freezes up if I try
to use the "auto" command like this:

card 0 TAG2610
dev 0 TAG2610

Is this a known problem?
