I assume the 2.2.x problem is in the never-to-be-fixed category (since fixing
it by changing sysinfo would break binary compatability within a stable kernel
series).

So, to get beck to my question, would you accept a sysinfo64 patch that
implements the new behavior, along with my patch to revert the behavior of
sysinfo with the additional change to cap the return values to MAX_ULONG?

Alternately, would you be willing to accept a patch for 2.2.x that incorporates
the new sysinfo struct, but sets mem_unit=1, totalhigh=0, freehigh=0?

Without one of these, I will have to start maintaining my own copy of the 2.4.x
struct sysinfo within my own code or it won't compile under 2.2.x...
