Recent kernel problems

Hi, all. I've noticed a few problems with recent kernels:

- 2.4.0-test1-ac8 breaks the BTTV driver (I use xawtv 3.07: the last
version that works with libc 5 so I can't "upgrade"). 2.4.0-test1
  works fine

- 2.3.99-pre9 and later don't unmount filesystems properly upon
reboot: I get the dreaded "can't unmount ..." messages followed by
the friendly fsck next time around. 2.3.99-pre6 was fine

- sometime after 2.3.28 someone broke either the ES1370 driver or the
OSS API, because xmix (and other mixers) shows the mic recording
  level control greyed out.

                                Regards,

                                        Richard....
