Hi!
I am not really sure that this is a bug. If there is more supported as "Use
PCI DMA by default", "Generic PCI bus-master DMA support", "Generic PCI IDE
chipset support", "include IDE/ATA-2 Disk support" and "Enhanced IDE/MFM/RLL
support" to run ALI M15x3 support, please let me know it.
My problem is: When i disable the ALI M15x3 support i can boot the kernel
whithout problems. But when i enable the ALI M15x3 support, to have a
specified driver for my ASUS P5A motherboard with ALI M1543C IDE-Controller,
the kernel makes this message:
unknown partition table
and later:
unable to mount root fs
It could be important for you to know that my P5A motherboard have an
UDMA/33 bus and my IDE harddisk is a little bit newer (UDMA/66). With
enabled ALI M15x3 support the kernel detect my harddisk as an UDMA/66 drive.
And the newest P5A motherboards also have an UDMA/66 bus. Is it possible
that my UDMA/33 bus, my UDMA/66 disk and the ALI M15x3 support is the result
of the problem reported above?
Now some informations about my system. If you need more, let me know it. I
will then send it to you. Have a nice day!
Distribution is Mandrake 7.0, Kernelversion is 2.4.0-test1
