This latest patch failed to compile (it's the first dev kernel I've tried
in a very long time) until I added in

#define CDROM_CAN(type) (cdi->ops->capability & ~cdi->mask & type)

(snatched from a 2.2.14)

It compiled, but it's still working on the modules.
