The sysctl keystrokes still work after X crashes, isn't there an "UNRAW"
sequence which should restore text console mode?

I find it strange that Linux can't automatically restore the console to text
mode when X goes away. Why was it done this way?

Chris.

In many environments, it _is_ easy to telnet from remote host. Very
few X crashes take whole machine with them.
