Ok, not sure.. Earlier I rebooted because VM killed X and something else, I wasn't able to
blindly do anything. Before this, lspci was complaining about a problem with Bus #2. I've never
had a #2 bus before and after the reboot I again didn't have it and lspci ran fine.

The problem is when PIIX4 tuning is enabled, the laptop will hang on boot at the stage of
partition checking. The only way out of it is to hard power off. The machine doesn't respond to
any other input.
