Something in the midst of these has broken my ide CD-ROM drive. No
oopsen, but lots of 'bread*' errors followed by mount failure. Reverting
back to 2.2.16 cures it completely.

I have Andre Hedrick's ide driver installed to support UDMA66 (as
backported by Bart to 2.2.16). I suppose something in pre* patches might
be conflicting specifically with it, but there were no conflicts in the
intel architecture. Will try selective patching to narrow it down when
time permits (not this weekend).
