2.4.0-test1 + ac12 is pretty good IMO
and I've have ac21 running for 2 days now.

In general I think that using 2.3.99 or 2.4.0-testN
is easier than using 2.2.N and the backport patch.

It could depend on what kind of system you have also,
like notebook or not, OHCI or UHCI host controller,
CPU (architecture).
