2.2 plans?

There have been lots of plans published for finishing up 2.4, but
I haven't seen any similar lists for 2.2.x. While I realize that 2.2
is strictly in bugfix mode; there are quite a few major patches
out there (Andre's IDE stuff, for instance) that so far hasn't been
merged back into the 2.2 tree.

Plus, a stupid question (I'm sure its a FAQ somewhere...): The
2.2.17pre series appears to only be available (from kernel.org) in
patch form; what are the patches derived from? Do they all come
from 2.2.16, or does pre1 come from 2.2.16; pre2 come from pre1, etc???
