IDE problems on 2.4.0-test2-pre11

I'm having some IDE problems on 2.4.0-test2-pre11. My
system is an Abit BP6. It has 3 ide controllers:

Standard on board IDE
  Primary
    Some cheap 2 gig drive
    IBM drive
  Secondary
    CD-ROM
    CD-ROM
Promise Ultra 33
  Primary
    IBM drive
  Secondary
    IBM drive
Onboard HPT366
  Primary is empty
  Secondary
    IBM drive

        
        Under 2.2.15/16/17 with Andre's IDE patch,
this setup works fine. Also under 2.4.0-test1-ac16
with no patches, this setup works fine.
        Under 2.4.0-test2-pre11, the onboard IDE
works fine, but both the Promise and the Highpoint
controller fail. Access to those drives fails
(including the kernel attempting to read the partiton
table) with a irq timeout.
        Anybody have any ideas?
