Well, for one things, dead users generally cannot complain.
Remember, guns don't kill people; PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. (Then other people
sue the gun manufacturer.)
As far as an OS is concerned, if it crashes, people blame the OS even if
it's a 3rd party problem.
