Hi,
Whoops, looks like I only sent my note about comparisions between
vesafb and rivafb 0.72 to Jeff Garzik. Anyways, to quickly sum up what I am
seeing, here's the output from fbset -i under rivafb 0.72 and vesafb, both
running at 1024x768-16:

rivafb 0.72:
mode "1280x1024-76"
    # D: 135.007 MHz, H: 81.134 kHz, V: 76.254 Hz
    geometry 1280 1024 1280 2048 16
    timings 7407 248 32 34 3 104 3
    rgba 5/10,5/5,5/0,0/0 <===
endmode
Frame buffer device information:
    Name : Riva RIVA-UTNT2
    Address : 0xd6000000
    Size : 33423360
    Type : PACKED PIXELS
    Visual : DIRECTCOLOR
    XPanStep : 1
    YPanStep : 1
    YWrapStep : 0
    LineLength : 2560
    Accelerator : No

vesafb:
mode "1280x1024-77"
    # D: 131.096 MHz, H: 80.328 kHz, V: 76.649 Hz
    geometry 1280 1024 1280 1024 16
    timings 7628 160 32 16 4 160 4
    rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0 <===
endmode
Frame buffer device information:
    Name : VESA VGA
    Address : 0xd6000000
    Size : 4194304
    Type : PACKED PIXELS
    Visual : TRUECOLOR
    XPanStep : 0
    YPanStep : 0
    YWrapStep : 0
    LineLength : 2560
    Accelerator : No

Notice how the rgba lines are different between the two. Vesafb appears
with correct colors, and rivafb does not. I guess I'll have to study the
2 drivers and see if I see some obvious error somewhere.
