Firstly, I just picked up a new hard drive and partitioned it, I've
mounted the partitions (they are all contained in 1 extended partition)

Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 2078539 1002334 1011735 50% /
/dev/hdd5 992876 20 992856 0% /mnt/newroot
/dev/hdd7 651964 20 651944 0% /mnt/newhome
/dev/hdd6 4527876 20 4527856 0% /mnt/newuser

the strange thing is when i mount /dev/hdd6 to newuser I get this output
from ls:

drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jul 13 00:12 newhome/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jul 13 00:11 newroot/
?--------- 0 root root 0 Dec 31 1969 newuser

Whats happening to the directory?

[root@visualnet /mnt]# cd newuser
bash2: cd: newuser: Not a directory

It totally changed it when i mounted it

Mount version:
mount: mount-2.9u

Here's a snipet of the dmesg containing the drives listed:

Jul 13 00:19:22 visualnet kernel: EXT2-fs warning: mounting fs with errors, running e2fsck is recommended

Any suggestions?

I'm going to run fsck on this drive when im done this email. But I've
neve seen this before.

Thanks,

Shawn.
