Hi guys,
I was experimenting with the idea of using PAE-only kernels on all
machines (i.e. whether they have <4G or >4G of physical RAM) and did this
benchmark. Unfortunately, in PAE mode performance is so bad (6% is
noticeble to the eye!) that I gave up on that idea and will use
appropriate kernel on appropriate machine...
benchmark results are attached. The machine is dual PIII/550MHz with 512M
RAM running 2.4.0-test6-pre1 kernel.
