2.4.20-pre8-ac2 ide-scsi timeout trying to initialize

During boot, ide-scsi aborts due to timeout
This same system works with all 2.4.x not-AC kernels
Fails the same with all 2.4.20-preX-ac kernels

ASUS P4S533 (SiS645DX chipset)
P4 2Ghz
1G PC2700 RAM
