Bug: swsusp in 2.5.42: oops on attempted suspend following a successful susp/resume

From: Eric Altendorf (EricAltendorf@orst.edu)
Date: Thu Oct 17 2002 - 18:36:10 EST

[1.] One line summary of the problem:

Oops on 2nd, 3rd, etc, swsusp attempts

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:

Initial swsusp works; subsequent attempts fail, abort back to resumed
state, cause an oops and kill the process that invoked the swsusp.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):

Swsusp, sleep, acpi

[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version):
Linux version 2.5.42 (root@dhcp-364-114) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315
(release)) #1 Sat Oct 12 01:28:50 PDT 2002

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic
information
resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt)

Two examples follow. I wasn't able to resolve the symbolic info as
for some reason /proc/ksysms was missing (don't know why; it's there
on my 2.5.25 kernel). If someone needs it, please email me directly
and I'll go mess around with the kernel some more to try to figure it
out.
