Drive appears confused

Hello, 
 
I have a new notebook with VIA KT400 Chipset and kernel 2.4.25-pre4. I receive many messages with: 
 
... 
hdc: lost interrupt 
hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x 1) 
... 
 
The drive is a DVD+RW from RICO ( RW8160 ). This is an OEM device. Latest DVD-Drive Firmware is 
"burned". 
 
Can you help?

P.S. I have an unknown device b198 ( PCI Bridge ). This is the VT8368. Can an unknown PCI Bridge 
cause this problem?
