 o files as directories -  no oppinion on that.
                            
 o metafiles -   AFAIK it was product of Nikita Danilov just playing and fooling.

Probably solution that will satisfy you is to have "legacy (dumb?) mode" which
is leaving all this fancy stuff out of sight.
