cdrwtool -d /dev/hdb -q
pktsetup 0 /dev/hdb

"Burning something non-udf there":
mkfs.xfs /dev/pktcdvd/0
mkisofs -o /dev/pktcdvd/0 somefiles
tar -cf /dev/pktcdvd/0 somemorefiles
