[BUG]: soft lockup detected on CPU#0!

This happened once during boot for both 2.6.17-rc1 and rc2, but not every time.

The Linux is running inside VMWare. I'm attaching the logs.

When this happens eth0 fails to come up as IRQ 9 is disabled. Both happens inside update_process_times().
