Ok, let me know when you've got a proposed patch and I'd be happy to
test it out for you.  I thought it might be related since it mentions
IRQs and my timeout problem was/is IRQ related possibly.

Yeah, it looks to be a problem with the new ata/hpt366 driver not
setting up my HPT302 Rev 1 chipset properly on a PCI card.
