When the packets were dropped, there was a different sequence in the log - DISCOVER/OFFER repeated. The "normal" is that the sequence appeared correct and complete - DISCOVER/OFFER/REQUEST/ACK - or INFORM/ACK (vs. INFORM repeatedly sans ACK) as the case may be.
