PROBLEM: Kernel 3.6.0-rc7 freezes up

From: Raj Upadhyaya

[1.] PROBLEM: Kernel 3.6.0-rc7 freezes up
[2.] I downloaded the kernel from kernel.org and built 3.6.0-rc7. It freezes up early in the boot.
I am able to see that the keyboard is active as Num Lock, Caps Lock and Ctrl-Alt-Delete still work.
