it seems there is a direct reference to pdev->irq.

Ah! one victim, 3000 to go! :D

That's exactly the kind of stuff I was mentioning when we
discussed this patch. Exposing the MSI vector as the INTx
IRQ has led to all sorts of broken drivers.
