some interesting observations

I was running two systems with 1.2.8, one with libc 5.2.2 and
libc.5.2.7.

No problems.

I haven't been able to get a system to succesfully run with
libc 5.2.x and kernel 1.3.x...

Certain major programs core dumped (vi, less).

Certain major programs did "bizarre" things (i.e. make with
the namlen patch...)

I'm recompiling the "problemsome" programs against libc 5.2.7 on
1.3.x, and they run well on all configurations...

I'm now have 1.3.20 running with libc 5.2.7 and am fairly happy
with it...

Did this happen to anyone else?
