Kernel >1.3.0 and LS_COLORS

I upgraded from kernel 1.3.0 to 1.3.20 and everything works quite fine,
but when i do a "ls -al" the directory colors have changed. I noticed
that's because "LS_COLORS" is not correctly set, i set it on /etc/profile
but i wanted to know if i have to upgrade something else. dircolors, for
example? i'm using dircolors "For GNU fileutils 3.12 with color-ls patch
3.12.0.2" Thanks...
