Good point. The vc system also allows users who have not gotten X
running, or for some reason, don't want to run X, to still be able to
access more than one terminal at a time. The few times I have worked on
Sun SPARC systems outside of X, it was a royal pain in the rar being
stuck with only 1 login/tty at a time.
