On uppercase logins

Hi All,

Sorry to continue this thread, but how about the following behaviour
(from a login on AIX3.2):

IBM AIX Version 3 for RISC System/6000
(C) Copyrights by IBM and by others 1982, 1990.
login: GLENN
YOU LOGGED IN USING ALL UPPERCASE CHARACTERS.
IF YOUR WORKSTATION ALSO SUPPORTS LOWERCASE
CHARACTERS, LOG OFF, THEN LOG IN AGAIN USING
LOWERCASE CHARACTERS.
\G\L\E\N\N'S \PASSWORD:

This would provide the support required, but also not surprise users
unaware of the uppercase terminal issues. This may stop this issue
being raised again in a year's time when someone else gets surprised
by the current behaviour.

Compatibility with uppercase terminals AND the principle of least
surprise (well to any extent possible ;-).

cheers,
glenn.
