Status of Telnet!?

All,

I have received various message from people about the use of Telnet and
my claims that is does not work in the 1.3.6[012] kernels. The overwhelming
comment is that it appears to be broken in a rather unigue fashion. I have
one host that I can not telnet to, but all of the others that I have accounts
on have no problems. Others have tried this host with the same response.

Now, you could say it is the problem of the host, but 1.3.59 with Path#6
works no problem to that host.

I have no idea how to fix this issue, but sure do wish there was some
acknowledgement that someone was looking into it. I don't mind testing and
providing feedback on new kernels, that is how they get to a release state,
but something this sutle, needs some attention. IMHO.

I have given the host name out once and if anyone want to try it send me
mail and I will give the host out again. It is not just telnet either as
this host is my mailserver and I can do no SMTP to it either.

I recieved some feedback about double acks, but have seen no posts for a fix.

I don't mean to be preachy, but feedback is important to those that take the
risk and test the beta kernels, it would be nice to get some feedback about
the issues we send to this list.

Thanks,
Alan Adamson
