Bad 1.3.63 experience

I've not had any problems upto 1.3.63 (lucky er :-)
but 1.3.63 has bitten within a couple of hours of booting.

Running the X server and a selection on remote Xapps, and a local
ftp connection. The server crashed with the following kernel messages.

Feb 14 20:21:52 bobias kernel: Couldn't get a free page.....
Feb 14 20:21:53 bobias kernel: release: X kernel stack corruption. Aiee

Just before the crash was a sudden rush of disk activity (reason unknown
but possibly a remote login attempt)

The machine stayed up a further 4 minutes before a producing a selection
of:

Feb 14 20:34:06 bobias kernel: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer
dereference at virtual address c0000005
Feb 14 20:34:06 bobias kernel: Corrupted stack page
Feb 14 20:34:06 bobias kernel: Trying to free nonexistent swap-page
Feb 14 20:34:06 bobias kernel: Trying to free swap from unused swap-device

etc, but I think they are of little significance due to the fisrt error.
I was still able to reboot with C-A-D. and have returned to .62 for now.
The machine is a 486 with 16MB ram and 16MB swap, it shouldn't have been
under any memory demands at the time. I can try and reproduce the
problem, but the "release: X kernel stack corruption. Aiee" error
doens't provide any info to investigate.
