I have a CSLIP connection via dip/shell-account/slirp,
and have had the same problems with kernels 1.3.6[1-3]:

I can manually log in using "dip -tv", and perform shell
commands, but after I invoke slirp , and run "mode CSLIP"
the telnet, ftp, lynx, and netscape programs hang when
invoked.

(e.g.)
$ telnet netcom.com
Trying 10.0.2.1...
Connected to netcom.com.
Escape character is '^]'.

(then it hangs)

(e.g)
$ftp netcom.com
Connected to netcom.com

(then it hangs)

(e.g.)

$lynx
Making http connection.. waiting for response...

(then it hangs)

--------------------------------------------------------
kernel 1.3.60 works fine for me. Does anyone know of
any solutions?
