Modules and 1.3.63

Hi All,

I seem to be successfully running 1.3.63 at the moment. No Oopses, or
weird things happening (In fact, I've never got an oops out of any of
the kernels I've been using :-)

[ Apart from the known breaking of ipfw - I'm in the process of switching
to ipfwadm ]

Just a few small comments:

1)
When the modules_install make target is used, several of the modules get
copied into multiple locations within /lib/modules/..

eg.

isofs, smbfs, nfs, umsdos get copied into fs and misc.
sbpcd gets copies into misc and cdrom
rd gets copied into misc and block

Any particular reason for this? (Apart from a the default /etc/conf.modules
perhaps not including all of the directories in its search path?)

Not that it makes much difference, mind :-)

2)
When I have just rebooted and logged in and just leave the machine, I notice
the disk light periodically flashing on and off briefly. I have 16M ram
and I wouldn't have thought that it should be swapping (but I may be wrong)

Any ideas?

3)
Just got kerneld working.. Great stuff :-)

4)
make menuconfig - Great stuff as well :-)

Keep up the good work....
Andrew.
