I downloaded a fresh copy of Linux 1.3.67 along with the bzImage
patch, level c. The resulting bzImage kernel refused to mount to root
filesystem on my Pentium 100, Intel Triton chipset. As soon as the VFS
mounted to root filesystem, I got an Oops which I couldn't record
anywhere. I did, however, get the EIP value, which was 1eb65f. Here is
the relevant portion of System.map:
