lockups with .66 and .67

I'm having a problem with frequent lockups since I upgraded to .66 (and now
with .67)...

Two or three times a day my X session will hang, and once I got a panic while I
was running mke2fs on a new SCSI disk (no X, immediately after a clean boot).

The panics don't end up in messages... two things do tend to show up around the
times it locks, these are:

Feb 21 10:41:44 tigger kernel: double lock on socket at 00146cec

and

Feb 20 16:01:07 tigger kernel: eth0: transmit timed out, status fc660000, tbusy:1, lostMedia:5 tickssofar:19, resetting.
Feb 20 16:01:07 tigger kernel: eth0: Searching for media... media is unconnected!

The ethernet here is fine, and other machines on the same segment don't report
any problems.

Any ideas?
