tcp problems in 71?

I'm not sure if this is appropriate behavior or a sign of a problem, but
I have a number of sockets stuck in the FIN_WAIT2 state and they have
been that way for a rather long time. Now, I do believe they are
eventually (several hours) going away, but I wasn't sure if this was the
appropriate behavior or not. The machine had no problems till today and
it has been up about 4 days under moderate load and connections.
