That's if you are mounting read-write over read-only. You could also have
read-write over read-write, with either preferential or balancing techniques
to say where modified files go, then of course read-write over read-only over
read-only, and all the other fun combinations. It's not just for making CD's
writeable.

It _would_ be nice to have something like this built into the kernel.
