Config manager for Linux?

Is there any way a config manager could be added to Linux? I like to try
multiple configs, and I have a machine that I'm busy with where I work,
so it would be handy to have something that takes care of this for me.
Not with all kinds of neat little gizmos, quick and dirty will do.
Thought it was worth mentioning this - maybe someone else would find this
useful too?

Win95 isn't the problem - OS/2 and DOS are. Win95 is the answer.
